In time for the renewed interest in U.S. halftracks, Tank WorkShop has released a set of 200 round 'Tombstone' ammunition cans for the M2 Heavy Machine Gun (HMG). This ammo box is the type included in Tamiya's M16 halftrack. This can was also included in Tamiya's M2 HMG with AA mount.

In a plastic bag with a cardboard header, we find a dozen cans on a small sprue. The detail is very good and is a great improvement over the Tamiya kit offerings. There is detail on five sides with the bottom being flat. These match photos I found, but I do wish a crank was included for a reloading scene.

With a dozen, there is plenty for the halftrack stowage as well. The only drawback is that the price per piece, at $1.25 each, seems a bit high. However, it is the only set available for this type of container and is therefore recommended as it is better than the kit offering.
