WW2 U.S. Army Officer #2

This officer is on the horn, getting orders from "the brass" or passing orders on to his company. The range of the SCR-536 "handie-talkie" was little more than a mile, so we know he's not talking to Ike!

He wears a field officer's overcoat, but his trousers and shirt are rather nondescript. You could paint the trousers a brownish wool color or go with OD herringbone twill. He has his cuffs rolled up high over his leather buckle boots.

Per its custom, Alpine provides two heads: one with the M1 pot helmet, the other with the wool "jeep cap."

The figure is sculpted by Krisztian Bodi has who does an excellent job with the detailing and posture. The figure holds the handie-talkie with both hands, suggesting both its weight and a sustained conversation. The body is cast as one piece. Both hands holds the phone, and drop precisely onto the sleeves. Again, this casting does not undercut overcoat at the bottom, but I can work that out with my Dremel. Both heads are well done, and you'll have a bonus for the spares box.

The resin is very glossy so I'll make sure I scrub it well, and maybe give it a shot of primer for good measure (I usually avoid primer to reduce buildup over details).

This is a pricey figure, around $16. You can save a bit by buying him in a set. I find that well detailed resin figures paint up better than most plastic soldiers. So if you are looking for one really good figure to stand with a vehicle, this is well worth considering in spite of the cost.
