Underneath his field officer's overcoat, he wears winter combat trouser, the second pattern with the zippered fly opening (I sometimes wonder about the subsequent career of the designer who created the first combat trousers without the zippered opening). His feet are protected from the elements with the rubber arctic overshoes with the buckles. Binoculars hang from his neck.

Alpine provides two heads with different chapeaux, depending on how close to the front you want to place him.

Sculptor Krisztian Bodi has performed his usual magic, creating a somber, lifelike figure who seems more weary than relaxed. The body is cast as one piece, with a separate hand holding a thin cigarette and the alternate heads. The only quibble I have with the casting is that the overcoat is not undercut at the bottom, likely because of casting complications. Perhaps I'm spoiled by Dragon's approach with the multipart "skirts" that offer a more realistic appearance, but a bit of careful Dremeling will hollow that area to my satisfaction.

The resin is a very glossy type that I'll make sure I scrub it well, and maybe give it a shot of primer for good measure (I usually avoid primer to reduce buildup over details).

This is a pricey figure, around $16. You can save a bit by buying him in a set. I find that well detailed resin figures paint up better than most plastic soldiers. So if you are looking for one really good figure to stand with a vehicle, this is well worth considering in spite of the cost.
