Allied and German Supplies Set 1
Modeling the U.S. Army in WWII

Academy
1382

Academy's Allied items were first provided in their M18 Hellcat kit. The .50 machine gun initially received good remarks but has since been surpassed in quality by Academy's U.S. Machine Gun Set (1384) as well as recent guns from Tamiya and Skybow (in plastic), and Verlinden, Custom Dioramics and SOL (in resin). There are ammo boxes and various 75mm and 76mm tank shells, as well as typical tank tools and a couple jerry cans. The boxes come with separate lids; unfortunately the interior of the boxes is not given a wood grain finish as the outside.

The most unique items in the set are two folded tripods, one for a .30 machine gun and one for a .50 gun.

The tools are suitable replacements for those found on Italeri's AFVs. The packs and rolled gear do not have quite the finesse as those from Tamiya, Verlinden, or Warriors, but are quite useable. If you don't want to spend money on resin products, this set offers a good alternative.
